This tree outside of the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. caught my eye. I went with a somewhat peculiar final composition, including an unbalanced portion of the sky in the right side of the frame. In post-processing, I warmed up the tones because even though it was a cold day, looking at this resilient tree made me feel a bit warmer inside.

If you didn't see my previous post, please take the time to read it. In particular, I want to bring awareness to a few things:
(1) I'm holding a prints sale with 50% of the proceeds going to a charity of your choice to benefit the victims of Haiti. All the details are here.
(2) I've put up two of my images on the Flickr Charity Prints Auction group; 100% of the bid amount will go to charity. Please see the group here and the images I'm auctioning here and here (New York Yankees fans should especially take part). If you don't bid on my picture(s), there are more than 150 other images for which you could bid and ultimately take home as prints. Definitely take a look here, as I do think this is a wonderful community effort.
(3) You can support the International Red Cross with a purchase of a photo magazine called Onè Respe.
If you're able to do so, please spread the word about the three ways you can help.

Thank you.

Update (January 19, 2010): I've decided to auction off another one of my images, “Dreams of Summer,” in the Flickr Charity Print Auction. This time, if you win the bid, you can donate to a charity of your choice (rather than to Partners in Health, as with my previous two auctions). I've also upped the ante: if you are the highest bidder, and don't want to receive that print, you can select to receive any of my other images as a 10”x15” print. So please bid!
