![]() Seen in today's entry is the Austrian Parliament Building (German: Parlament or Hohes Haus, formerly the Reichsratsgebäude) in Vienna, Austria. The Parliament building is the seat of the National Council (Nationalrat) and the Federal Council (Bundesrat). The building is located on the Ringstraße in Vienna's first district Innere Stadt. In the center, you can see a large statue and fountain. If you've been following Erudite Expressions since this summer, you might recognize that it's the statue of Athena. ### I'm curious if anyone actually reads these captions that I write. A fellow photoblogger, Justin, echoes my thoughts in his most recent post, where he writes: Are you coming here to read what I write at all? Because I realized I don't really have a mode, or a goal in mind when I sit down...So I'd like to ask the same question of my readers: what do you like to read? Again, it doesn't have to be what I write about on this space, but in general (blogs on the web, newspapers, books). You can respond by leaving a comment. But then again, people respond to incentives. So what do you have to gain? My best argument is that if a large number of people respond, a dialogue may evolve. I may bring up an interesting comment in an upcoming post, for example. Or I'll ask a follow-up question based on what someone has written. The technique has been moderately successful in the past. Finally, I mentioned in a previous post that I'll try to post every day in December. It's looking more and more likely that I won't be able to do so, but I will definitely try to hold a free print giveaway by the end of this month, details of which will be revealed in an upcoming post. Did I mention incentives already? |
