Today I attended the University of Georgia vs. Georgia Tech football game at Bobby Dodd Stadium. I arrived to the campus of Georgia Tech more than three hours before the scheduled kick-off so I could take some photographs of the fans (both Georgia Tech fans and the UGA fans).

The enthusiasm was certainly in the air! I haven't ever seen so many fans line up at Yellow Jacket Alley. I stood there for about an hour, waiting for Coach Paul Johnson and the Yellow Jackets to greet the thousands of fans.

As for this shot: there was a Georgia Tech Santa walking around the stadium. Unfortunately, he didn't come bearing any gifts. Georgia Tech trailed the entire game to UGA, and couldn't pull off the victory at the end of the game (with about two minutes left to go in the game, Georgia Tech had four chances to try to pull out the victory; unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be). Final score in Atlanta: Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets 24, University of Georgia Bulldogs: 30. I am hoping Santa will warm up a bit as he travels to Tampa, when the Yellow Jackets play against the Clemson Tigers in the 2009 ACC Championship. That's going to be the most important game of the season, to be sure.

Note: I am posting this entry retroactively by about twenty-four hours (I hope you can forgive me; I only do retroactive posts a few times a year). After the game ended near 11:30PM last night, it took me over an hour to get home (atrocious traffic), and I wasn't in the mood to upload a picture. I've had a chance to go over the images today, and I am not keen on any particular image I captured at the game (hence I am posting a more humorous shot for today). Still, I'll probably create a small gallery of images, and I'll post those to a Flickr account in the coming days.
