Something that fascinates me greatly is the way humans interact with one another.

Take this picture, for example. I captured it inside the Louvre Museum in Paris, France. I stood on the bottom level, looking up at the glass pyramid (which you can also see in my previous post).

I was winding down my day in the Louvre, getting ready to head to Versailles. Before I exited the Museum, however, I took about ten minutes observing the architecture around me. Of course, the way the Louvre Pyramid looks is fascinating. But what grabbed my attention is how people were coming and going via the spiral staircase. The moment in this particular shot intrigued me. Who was this lady, and to what was she pointing? Clearly she's interacting with the man next to her, but just look at the way the two are positioned relative to one another. The lady wants to slow down, get her bearing straight. The man is in a hurry, putting his foot forward toward the exit. Perhaps the two had different agendas that day? I can only speculate, but I can try to interpret from this single exposure. What do you think is happening in this interaction? Don't you think the man and the woman have a disparate body language?

I don't know if you noticed, but take a look at the sky seen through the Pyramid's glass panes. Reflected in the panes are a scurry of tourists. I say scurry because it does seem a bit chaotic standing on the bottom level, watching all these people pass you. I think it's good to slow down sometimes, kind of like I did to capture this shot. Oh, and if you're one to explore, you will no doubt find a reflection of me in this frame!

Note: here is my entire gallery of images captured in France.

In other news:

1) If you have a moment, I'd appreciate your vote in the 2009 Photoblog Awards (the site was down most of yesterday, but it seems to be back up now). Also, I entered one of my images into the Photo of the Year category, and you can vote for it here as well. Even if you don't vote, I do encourage you to check the photo, as I believe it might inspire you.
2) I'll be attending the University of Georgia vs. Georgia Tech football game tomorrow. If all goes well, I will post one shot on Erudite Expressions in tomorrow's post. I know some of you aren't thrilled when I only post one image a day for an event, so I'll probably upload a full set of images to a Flickr gallery as well.
3) Thank you.
