During an evening stroll through Prague, I paused in the middle of the sidewalk to capture this shot.

For a few reasons, while I was at this place and time in Prague, I was reminded of the great poem by Robert Frost (my favourite poet) called “Acquainted with the Night,” which I recite from memory:
I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain -- and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.

I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.

I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,

But not to call me back or say good-bye;
And further still at an unearthly height,
O luminary clock against the sky

Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.
I have been one acquainted with the night.
I will post another image tomorrow, but after tomorrow, I will most likely take a one to two week break from posting images (to be explained in tomorrow's entry). For now, I recommend checking out these posts:

“Reaching Out”
- about helping someone with photography
“Worthy of Exploration” - where I (try to) answer the question “What is a photographer?”
“The Cost of Something” - where I discuss the benefits of sharing at (virtually) zero cost
