This is the fourth and final image I am posting from Dima and Nataliya's wedding. You can see the other three photos I have posted here, here, and here.

When thinking about which photos to post on Erudite Expressions, particularly from events where I captured hundreds (if not thousands) of photos, I ask the following three questions:
1) If I am posting the image on the day of the event, does the image I want to post provide a solid representation of how the day unfolded? For example, on September 6, I posted Dima and Nataliya dancing together as the one image which encapsulates the wedding: beautiful couple, joyous occasion, and a moving scene. I am not always successful in this approach, but I think for Dima and Nataliya's wedding I picked a winning shot.

2) If I am posting more than one image from the event, which photos do I want to post? Sometimes I present photos in a sequential order, which is what I did with the other dancing photo I posted from Dima and Nataliya's wedding. Other times I do something completely different.

3) If I am winding down the series with the final post, do I pick the image that was captured near the end of the event? Or do I go with something different? For example, for Melissa and Paul's wedding, the final image I posted was of the newlyweds leaving from the reception site, to the tune of beautiful sparklers.
Since this is the final image I am posting in this short series from Dima and Nataliya's wedding, the most relevant question to answer is question 3. In this case, I am choosing to go in sequential order, presenting a photo that was captured near the end of the reception. Seen in the image is the host of the evening, Sam, presenting a bottle of cognac to the newlyweds. The photo isn't particularly striking, but the story here is interesting. As I mentioned in yesterday's post, guests had about an hour to mingle before entering the reception site where the festivities would begin. During this time, Sam mentioned that guests could offer their congratulations and kind words to the newlyweds (not to be forgotten is the signature), to be written on the the ribbon(s) attached to the bottle of cognac. Sam mentioned that the couple would not open the cognac until their silver wedding anniversary, twenty five years from the wedding day: September 6, 2034. Those guests which signed their name would automatically be invited to the anniversary celebration (the specifics of which, such as time and place, would be announced in the distant future). So, this concluding image is the presentation of this gift. You can see that Dima is absorbed and reading the well-wishes, while Nataliya is all smiles as she is listening to the host.

I should mention that this is the last image I am posting from Dima and Nataliya's wedding in a consecutive fashion, but I am fairly certain that I will come back to posting some more images from this wedding in the future. What kind of questions do you think I will answer before posting other images?
