![]() This weekend is busy for me because I am photographing two weddings. I photographed the wedding of Hans and Eva today, and I am (helping) photograph my cousin's wedding tomorrow. The wedding today was fairly short (about five hours of total shooting), but I still came away with more than one thousand total images. I worked most of the day with two bodies: the Canon 5D and my first dSLR which I still have, the trusty Canon Rebel XT. I used a different combination of lenses with each camera (Some examples which I used: Canon 5D + Canon 100mm macro while the Rebel XT was paired with the Canon 17-40 f/4L; Canon 5D + 35mm f/1.4L and Rebel XT + Canon 17-40 f/4L; Canon 5D + 70-200 f/2.8L IS and Rebel XT + 17-40 f/4L; and Canon Rebel XT + 70-200 f/2.8L IS and Canon 5D + 35 f/1.4L. Interestingly, I never used the 35 f/1.4L on the Rebel XT - can you guess why not?). After looking through the previews of the images, the one featured today grabbed my attention. I knew immediately that it deserved a B&W conversion, so I did just that. This image was shot with the Canon Rebel XT and the Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS lens at ISO 400, 115mm, wide open, for 1/1600 seconds. I am surprised how well the Rebel XT performed today! The bokeh turned out interesting with the way the leaves were framed behind these two men. Now I must prepare for tomorrow's wedding, from which I will post one picture tomorrow! Note: I have placed this image into my wedding gallery, which you can see here. If you are interested in hiring me, please see this page. |
