![]() Today I had the pleasure of shooting Paul and Melissa's wedding. Actually, I was the assistant photographer today, shooting for Esther Lee Photography, LLC. Esther is a fellow photographer in the Atlanta area, and we met each other more than two years ago. She's been exclusively in the wedding photography business for over two years, so when she asked me to assist her in shooting today's wedding, I was eager to help her out. The next few posts (five to ten) will be images I captured at this wedding. The wedding festivities began at 12:30PM and went through 9:30PM. I have just uploaded all my images on my hard drive, and I have captured more than 1,800 images today, which is a record for me (the number of images captured also corresponds to a shooting rate of more than two hundred images per hour, which is another record). It's easy to explain why I took so many photos, however: this wedding was an absolute blast! There were just so many things happening that needed to be photographed! And there was surprise after surprise after surprise coming during the reception. The wedding ceremony was in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and the reception was at the gorgeous Villa Christina. It was a beautiful ceremony (over an hour long) capped off by a bagpiper's performance (photos will be posted in the coming days). The reception at this wedding was incredible, and everything at this reception was coordinated flawlessly. The MC for the reception was Joel Rabe of Lethal Rhythms, and he did an absolutely spectacular job emceeing the reception; he was also an awesome DJ, selecting awesome songs to play all night. I was really impressed with the crossfade effect going from one song to the next. I'll talk more about the reception in upcoming posts. As far as today's post: this was a nice moment where the elderly gentleman (who was Paul's childhood priest in upstate New York) signed a congratulatory note in Paul and Melissa's guest book (designed by Melissa; the photos in the book were photographed by Esther Lee of aforementioned Esther Lee Photography, LLC during Paul and Melissa's engagement session). On the left is a framed canvas print of Paul and Melissa. In the background are guests from the wedding (I'll explain what they are doing in an upcoming post). Thanks to Esther for inviting me to assist her in photographing this awesome wedding! And a huge congratulations to Melissa and Paul! |
