The image seen in today's entry is one of my favourites which I captured during my recent visit to New York City (and this was long overdue, but do check out my New York City gallery here).

It was a fairly chilly evening (for a summer), and the storm clouds moved through the area. It started raining - but only briefly. Moments later I observed the scene around me and noticed a dense fog. I thought the way the light was illuminating from the GE building was interesting, a sort of battle of the light against the fog (you can still make out the GE sign, but notice how the right side of the building is obscured). After I captured this shot (I used the Canon 5D and the Canon 35mm f/1.4L lens at f/1.6), I immediately thought that it was a unique image, not least because I don't remember the last time I captured a skyscraper shrouded by fog. My only regret? I wish I was in the area of the Empire State Building or the Chrysler building at the time.

Update regarding my image of Dodger Stadium being used on a Chow.com article: I received an email today from one of the editors/representatives of the company, and she promised that she would look over the case Monday morning. Until then, you can read more details about the situation in the second half of yesterday's post.
