![]() As I mentioned in my July 18th entry, I participated in the 2nd annual Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk while I was in New York City. On my walk, I was intrigued by this Everest scaffolding advertisement. In particular, what drew my attention was seeing this sign, and then looking in the distance and seeing the Empire State Building. I focused on the Everest scaffolding advertisement (using the Canon 100mm macro lens at f/2.8, with an exposure time of 1/8000 seconds). My intention was to bring the Empire State Building out of focus. In post-processing, I thought it would be interesting to add another effect to the final result. In Photoshop, I overlayed a 'glass filter' to the image, making it seem as though we are viewing everything outside of the Everest scaffolding sign through a large window (though perhaps the effect isn't as convincing as I would have liked). What do you think? Disclosure: this was the second image (first image is here) I submitted to the contest for the New York City (Square Root of New York) photo walk. |
