 Seen in today's entry is the Parque del Buen Retiro (also known as Jardines del Buen Retiro) in Madrid, Spain. Literally translated as 'Gardens' or 'Park of the Pleasant Retreat,' the El Retiro is the main park of Madrid. The park is fairly large (its total area is 350 acres) and is located close to the Museo del Prado. After visiting the Prado, taking a stroll in the El Retiro is a superb way to wind down the evening. In fact, I did exactly that, visiting the Park as the sun was setting. The image seen in today's entry is a high dynamic range image, composed of three separate exposures. I captured an image of 'The Mermaid,' previously featured on Erudite Expressions, in El Retiro. A few announcements: 1) The image presented in today's entry is in a 2x1 aspect ratio. Heretofore, it was more difficult to order prints of images presented in non-standard aspect ratios (the most common aspect ratio for my images is 3x2). However, with the implementation of the Fotomoto service, you can now purchase prints which reflect the aspect ratio of the images. Just click 'purchase a print' option above the image to go to the ordering template. There are two choices for the paper finish: lustre and glossy. You can purchase with confidence. 2) I've also implemented Editions for prints. Smaller prints do not have editions, but the larger prints come in editions of 75, 50, 25, and 10. 2) The 'purchase a print' option below a given image is still active, primarily for those of you who would like to order metallic prints. However, the print sizes listed under that purchase menu do not reflect the image aspect ratio (such as in today's entry). 3) I finally updated my prints blog with a review of prints from Imagekind. I was initially considering using Imagekind for selling prints along with frames (on one site), but if you read my Imagekind review, I am going to look into other alternatives. |
