![]() Seen in today's entry are Joshua and Jackee, the bride and groom from the wedding I photographed on Saturday. On the afternoon of May 2, heavy thunderstorms rolled across all over Atlanta. Luckily, for all the formal portraits (done prior to the reception), the weather was sunny. It rained for the entire length of the reception, however. By the time the reception was ending, at around 7PM, the rain had passed, and I noticed that the light was quickly fading. I suggested to Joshua and Jackee to get some last shots - just the two of them - before the sun had completely set. They agreed, and we proceeded to a nice location, where I captured the image you see in today's entry. The light here was absolutely magnificent, and if it's difficult to tell from this image, wait for my next entry, which will be a high dynamic range portrait. For this particular shot, I chose to go with warm post-processing, and I added a texture to the image as well. There seems to be a trend in the wedding industry to post-process some images with textures (perhaps the master at this kind of post-processing is Jesh de Rox). I am not sure if this trend will continue, and I try to be conservative with using textures: from the entire batch of images I have post-processed so far, I have used textures for only two images, of which this is one. I'd be interested to hear if you like the final result. If you're a wedding/portrait photographer, what are your thoughts on using textures for wedding/portraiture photography? In case you missed them, the other images from Joshua and Jackee's wedding are here, here, here, and here. |
