![]() Seen in today's entry is the overlook of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea from Sidi Bou Said, Tunisia. To get to this vantage point, one walks about a quarter mile via the town's main street. Eventually, the street makes a sharp turn, and you are treated to this gorgeous view. I set up my tripod + Canon 5D + 17/40 f/4L lens and captured a series of three images, which I then merged into a high dynamic range image (to see over 100 of my HDR images, check out my HDR gallery). In the month of April, I am highlighting one photoblog/photographer to check out. So far I mentioned JR Photoblog, Daily Walks, A Walk Through Durham Township, and Daily Dose of Imagery, and Moodaholic. Today's photoblog to discover is David J. Nightingale's Chromasia. It is the second photoblog which I discovered on the internet, after Daily Dose of Imagery. With his photography, David has developed a unique style; many in the photoblogging world have dubbed his work as having a 'Chromasia' look and feel. One of David's first images which created a photographic stir was his image titled 'SG-Blackpool,' in which the 'the dynamic range of the camera just wasn't sufficient to capture the scene.' I believe that photograph was the stepping-stone to high dynamic range photography, which is quite popular today. While it is fairly easy to go over-the-top with HDR post-processing, I really admire David's HDR work. A lot of his HDR work has a subtle feel, such as this this image from Barcelona. Especially amazing are the toned B&W HDR images from Dubai, such as this one, this one, and this one. I encourage you to check out David's work, as his photographs are always impressive.
