![]() Today's entry is a complement to yesterday's entry (link). While yesterday's HDR image was captured prior to the sun rising above the distant mountains, the image in today's entry was taken about a half hour later, when the sun began its ascent. Like the image in yesterday's entry, the image in today's entry is also an HDR, comprised of three exposures. Even though I try to avoid lens flare as much as possible, I felt it was an appropriate - even necessary - element in this particular image in order to capture the essence of the scene as it unfolded. I haven't decided which image I prefer (the one in yesterday's entry or the one posted today). I'd be interested to learn what you think. After watching the sun rise, we proceeded forward and did something cool: on the count of three, we shouted 'This is Sparta!!!' The echoes of three hundred men (and maybe even more) came back at us like a cascade of waves. Oft did these hills reverberate the sounds! After spending some time at the top, we finally proceeded down on the Snake Path trail. The view from that trail may be seen here (link). I can feel the salt of the sea on my skin |
