![]() Happy New Year! I had a nice New Year's Eve. I spent New Year's Day mostly in the air. As a result, my New Year's Day was close to thirty-two hours...After I got home, I spent the evening mostly recovering, uploading pictures to my hard drive, and unpacking. The image in today's entry was captured in mid-December 2008; it is from inside the Trump Tower in New York City. For some people, a new year means it's time for (new) resolutions. I am not really into making resolutions, though I do have a few goals for this year. For me, 2008 was a pretty good year for photography: I photographed a couple of weddings (link to my wedding gallery), did a photoshoot with Miss United States (images here, here, here, and here), learned more about HDR photography (hence the growing HDR gallery which may be found here), won a couple of photo contests, and even had some of my work commissioned in an architecture shoot. I hope 2009 will be a fruitful year. If I had to set one fundamental goal for 2009, it would be to get more exposure (you can help!). That is a broad statement, since exposure comes in many forms. For instance, in 2008, visitors from 68 countries visited Erudite Expressions. While increasing viewership in terms of number of visitors and/or page views is nice, it cannot be (and has never been) my primary goal. For me, exposure also means doing more photography with which I have less experience (i.e., shooting commissioned projects, weddings, events, portraits, etc.) compared to what I generally post (landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes). I still have a lot to learn, and I hope to expand my horizons (in terms of the kind of photography I do as well as learning more photography techniques, such as off-camera lighting) in 2009. |
