This summer's short adventure in Tunisia began by leaving the port of call and heading out on a highway toward the center of Tunis. As we passed the city and headed to suburbia, desolate scenes such as the one seen in today's entry unfolded. Many suburban houses in the distance. Very few cars on the road. For some reason looking at this picture makes me sad. I wonder what happened on this street - the skid marks in the foreground suggest breaking by some car, but I can't envision this road being heavily traveled by cars or pedestrians.
