leaf and rain drops | October 21, 2008

A couple of weeks ago a heavy rainstorm passed through the area. After the storm was over, I went to my backyard and captured some rain drops on a green leaf. The leaf is angled sharply compared to the vertical (ignore for a second that the leaf also has curvature), which makes it appear as though the large rain drop on the right (your left) of the leaf is about to slide off. Surface tension is pretty amazing, no?
