First of all: I had a minor glitch with my photoblog over the last few days; as a result, I had to delete my posts and upload all the images and text all over again...It may be worth looking over the entries again, as I did tweak the captions. An unfortunate consequence of this glitch was that the comments some of the readers posted were erased.

As far as today's entry goes: it is an HDR image of the famous bullring of Seville. The bullring has a long name: Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla; it is, in fact, the oldest bullring in all of Spain. Site of the annual Feria de Abril in Seville, one of the most well-known bullfighting festivals in the world, construction of this bullring began in 1749 and wasn't entirely finished until 1881. The arena accommodates 14,000 - and it is said that the acoustics of the arena are so divine that one may hear a pin drop from any of the seats; no wonder this famous bullring was immortalized in Georges Bizet's opera Carmen.

The image of this bullring was taken from the same place as yesterday's entry of the bridge, but the vantage point was slightly different (i.e. in a different direction). Also, I haven't told you which place this was, as it will be the subject of a future entry (part of the reason I haven't posted the place first and then post images taken from this place was because I can't find a suitable post-processing technique that best showcases this place, so I've been holding back on posting that image).

Also, you may be thinking, 'Hmm, that doesn't look like a real bullring! Isn't it a model?' Actually, it's the real thing. I just used a tilt-shift effect in post-processing to make your brain think that you're looking at a macro shot with small depth of field. Click here to read a tutorial that explains how this effect can be achieved in Photoshop (briefly, it revolves around creating a depth/field map using a gradient and then applying a lens blur filter in Photoshop). It's a pretty neat effect and one that I may utilize more often in the future (especially since tilt-shift lenses are very expensive and I certainly can't afford one).

Finally, look for an announcement (on Wednesday or Thursday of next week) regarding prints which you may order from this photoblog. You may want to subscribe to my prints RSS feed, which is found here. The prints blog will be updated with all the details, so check it out (link).
