![]() Seen in today's entry is the Puente del V Centenario (Fifth Centenary) Bridge in Seville, Spain. This bridge was constructed between 1990 and 1991. The longest bridge in Spain (at 2018 meters), the Puente del V Centenario was built to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the discovery of America by Columbus in 1492. Seville is situated on the plain of the River Guadalquivir (which is the longest river in the Andalucia region of Spain, and the fifth longest river in Spain overall, after the Tagus, Ebro, Duero, and Guadiana). A hint on what's coming to this photoblog...Read 'What the Bagel Man Saw' (you can do a google search or just download the PDF here) by Stephen J. Dubner and Steven D. Levitt (yes, the guys that wrote the Freakonomics book). It is a very interesting read. |
