Today I went to the season opener of the Georgia Tech football season.

I arrived to Bobby Dodd Stadium early and was able to secure a front row seat in the student section. I didn't bring a telephoto lens, but I did capture a few pretty neat shots with the Canon 5D and the 100mm macro combination.

Today's game against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks resulted in a 41-14 victory for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. It was also the debut game for Georgia Tech's new head coach, Paul Johnson. His triple-option offense was extremely effective. In this image, you see #21 Jonathan Dwyer, pushing forward ahead of the line of scrimmage. Dwyer would be making his first start at Georgia Tech. Dwyer had a great game: 10 carries for 113 yards, including touchdown runs of 21 and 29 yards in the first half.

Overall, Georgia Tech had a solid day on offense (they only had one punt in the entire game!) accumulating 349 rushing yards, six touchdowns, and 484 total yards.
