Seen in today's entry is the edge of the Spanish city of Toledo. To get an idea of location, click here to see my image of the entire town of Toledo. Today's image was taken with the macro lens, and it encompasses the leftmost part of the city of Toledo. Once again, the tiny black dots in the sky are swallows.

The post-processing was a bit strange because I accidentally overexposed the image when I captured it. However, the benefits of shooting RAW came through again: I was able to decrease exposure by more than two stops in post, and hence recover (most of) the blown highlights. Even though shooting RAW means that on average each image is between 10 to 15 MB in size, the benefit that is afforded through post-processing more than outweighs the con of the large space requirements of RAW files.

Two unrelated notes:
1) Over the last week or so, I've been having a very difficult time selecting which images I'll be posting on the photoblog. I have so much material from my recent trip to Europe (Spain, France, Italy), images from Russia (taken one year ago), and finally images from recent photoshoots with models. I may end up posting images from all over the place soon just to bring a little bit of variety.
2) The Olympics are exciting! Did you watch the 4x100 meter freestyle relay? The anchor race by Jason Lezak was absolutely amazing. In case you missed it, in the final 25 meters, Lezak overtook French anchor-swimmer Alain Bernard (who holds the world record in 100 meter freestyle). Lezak ended up edging out Bernard by 0.08 seconds (equivalent to the distance from your index finger to your knuckle) to secure the gold medal for the U.S. swimming team. Very exciting!
