I captured the image seen in today's entry during my walking tour around Barcelona. I was walking on a busy, touristy street (near La Rambla) when I glanced toward this alley and noticed that it was beautifully illuminated by the light coming in from the distance.

So, I set up my Canon 5D + Canon 17-40 f/4L lens on a tripod and took three bracketed shots to create this HDR. In hindsight, my underexposed shot should have gone beyond the -2 EV setting because the light is so strong in the distance (there is still overexposure in the image even after tonemapping the HDR). Nevertheless, I really like this picture for its elements: the grand door on the right, the lamp protruding from the building at the top, and the trail of dirt which begins at the bottom of the frame and seemingly beckons the viewer to come forward into the light.
