The next day our cruise ship made a stop in Palermo, the capital and largest city of the autonomous region Sicily (Italy).

We had a magnificent tour around Palermo, which included a stop in the catacombs and a visit to one of the castles, built by Arabs, which served as a summer residence for the Norman kings (future entry on this photoblog).

After the tour was over, I went exploring the city on my own. I captured this HDR image after waiting for a couple of people to clear from this temple located in the center of the city.
