![]() Well, the Atlanta Hawks got absolutely destroyed in Game 7 against the Boston Celtics. It seems like they were still on a major high from winning Game 6, but they did not come to play in Game 7. The Celtics defeated the Hawks 99-65, one of the most lopsided contests in the history of the NBA playoffs. The Celtics are now 18-5 in Game 7s, but they had not won one since beating Atlanta in the second round in 1988. A string of bad luck still haunts the Hawks: they haven't won a seventh game since 1961. However, even though the Hawks lost the series against the Celtics, they still did a wonder of good. No one expected them to win a single game against the almighty Celtics, but here they went to Game 7. The shot featured today was taken a minute and six seconds into Game 6 (with the score tied 2-2) from Friday night. Indeed, most fans who came to that game didn't really believe the Hawks could pull off one of the biggest upsets in sports history; they were there because a lot of them couldn't believe there was even a Game 6 to be played, so they came out to Philips Arena just to see what happens. The fact that the Hawks pulled off another victory that night was something special, and you can read more about that amazing victory in this previous entry. |
