![]() For a brief time today, heavy storms rolled through Atlanta. I decided to photograph the event, but rather than do the boring shot of the clouds and the rain, I decided to try out the HDR technique. This photo was created from three exposures, at -2 EV, 0 EV, and +2 EV. I then used Photomatix Pro to tonemap the final result. I really like the way the clouds are faithfully rendered with the HDR approach; they were this ominous looking in real life. It's hard to tell from this small resolution image, but you can tell the rain is coming down pretty hard if you pay attention to the orange spots in the sky, where you can make out lines (it looks like some kind of texture, but those are rain droplets). News regarding this photoblog: Erudite Expressions is celebrating a two year anniversary. To help commemorate the event, I am having a sale on two 8 inch by 12 inch prints + two 4 inch by 6 inch prints for just $20. I created a short list of FAQs about the prints here. If you have any questions, leave a comment or send me an e-mail. Read more details about the prints by clicking here. The sale is in effect through May 8, 2008. |
