 This is a shot of a really neat little restaurant in old town Riga, Latvia. It is situated in a lovely location on the corner of a street. For most of the evening, as I was exploring old town Riga, I was partaking in a solitary walk. As I approached this location from another street, however, I was drawn to the sounds of people. When I came to this scene, I was immediately drawn to the colourful windows of the adjacent buildings, flowers at the edge of the restraurant, and the bright red doors seen in the right of this image. Probably most captivating, however, was the striking logo of two lions standing on hind legs, seemingly fighting over possession of a castle, which is adorned by a massive crown. As I framed this shot, I tried to incorporate all these elements: the restaurant, the red door, the lantern on the left, and the regalia set against a deep blue colour on top of the building in the center. |
