 Moving away from snow-related images for today. This picture was taken near St. Petersburg, Russia, on the edge of the Gulf of Finland. A lot of tourists were in this area, and most of them were all too eager to have their picture taken by the rocks. Post-processing was a bit of a departure from my norm; for this image, I went with desaturated tones and tried to bring out the clouds to create a great contrast in the image. There are boats visible on the horizon on the far left; I decided to leave the boats in the frame (rather than crop the image or clone the boats out), as I think they add an interesting visual element to the final image. |
