This weekend I had the chance to travel to Zion National Park in Utah. The trip was amazing. I'll be posting at least six photos in the coming days, so stay tuned.

The first day was mostly spent traveling. It took us about eight hours to get to Zion National Park from Pasadena, CA. We made about a forty five minute stop for dinner in Las Vegas. By the time we arrived to the park, it was around ten in the evening local time (note that we shifted one hour ahead because we were now in the Mountain Time Zone). We set up our tents and went to sleep shortly afterwards. I spent about thirty minutes taking long exposure shots of the night sky. The long exposure shots were my way of 'seeing' my surroundings. As for this shot, it was a 26 second exposure at f/6.3. The campfire is really bright (well, overexposed), but I wanted to see how the light would illuminate the surroundings. Post-processing included an introduction of a Gaussian filter to provide a ghostly feel to the trees, while preserving the focus on the tent, the car, and the campfire itself.
