PETCO Park | July 08, 2007

Today my friend and I went to San Diego to see the Braves play the Padres at PETCO Park. I'm a huge Braves fan, so I was really excited about going to see this game. It took us about two hours to get from Pasadena to downtown San Diego; we arrived to San Diego about an hour before the game started.

PETCO Park is amazing. It's everything a ballpark should be. It can be easily reached by foot from anywhere in downtown San Diego, it has awesome seats, friendly fans, and special places that you can discover.

The game's pitchers were Kyle Davies and Greg Maddux, a former Brave. Brian McCann homered and drove in four runs, and it looked like smooth sailing to victory until the 9th inning. I took this shot from the upper deck with two out in the bottom of the ninth inning, with the score 5-1 in favour of the Braves. But then Wickman gave up some hits, the Padres rallied, and the score was 5-4. San Diego had runners on first and second base, and threatening to at least tie the game, when Marcus Giles took a called third strike to end the game. After the third strike was called, I jumped up in joy and screamed 'Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah!' I was very thrilled that the Braves pulled off the victory!
