![]() During one section of our traversal through Joshua Tree National Park, we came upon hundreds and hundreds of burnt Joshua trees. It seemed to me that the trail on which we were walking was a natural barrier for the proliferation of the conflagration. The tree pictured here grabbed my attention, because not a square inch of it was left unscathed by the fire. The ruthless nature of the fire cared not for humble beginnings of new life: the small tree to the southwest of the big Joshua Tree was completely charred as well. |
