Ah, the Sun. That object in the solar system which by itself accounts for over 99% of the solar system's mass. That object which supports almost all life on Earth. Consider: each and everysecond, more than 4 million tons of matter in the Sun are converted into energy within the Sun's core. And even though it appears bright in the sky, it has always amazed me that light from the Sun, traveling at 299,792,458 meters per second, must travel for over eight and a half minutes to reach Earth!
