![]() Enter into Doors of Prague... While I was traveling in Prague in July of 2009, there were a few things which caught my eye: the incredible architecture, the vintage trams, the river bank. But as I was walking around the city, I noticed how amazing and unique the entrances to public and private buildings were. So I started photographing these doors. I realized at the time that I would make it a photo series. Heretofore, I posted a few of these images as separate entries on this photoblog, Erudite Expressions (the links to the photoblog posts are below). It wasn't until I created my first photo essay earlier this year—The High Line—that I realized that I should present Doors of Prague in the same fashion... |
![]() Dilapidated but still beautiful. The handle has a deformed shape after years of use... |
![]() A back entrance to a pizzeria. |
![]() A nice symmetry here, I think. |
![]() Many doors in Prague had incredible detail, such as this decorative lion. |
![]() This is one of my all-time favorite images. The blues on this door are some of the richest I've ever seen. See the photoblog entry for more details. |
![]() The magnificent Flowering Door of Prague. |
![]() Doors which lead to shopping in Old Town Prague. |
![]() An entrance to a residential building. |
![]() Just a few hundred feet away from the residential door seen above, there was this fiery entrance to a restaurant... |
![]() Girls walking in step in front of a massive door... |
![]() A mystery door leading to undeveloped land... |
![]() Perhaps the most opulent, grandiose, and elaborate door I came across in Prague. And to think: this was an entrance to a residential building, not a palace or state residence. For this photo essay, I chose to present this door in horizontal format; you can see the vertical image and read more about this door in this post. |
![]() How to close this photo essay? I couldn't decide on the door, so I thought this image of The Dancing House would work, not least because it is also one of my favorite images I have posted on Erudite Expressions in 2010.
